The basics for a successful start-up business
start right here with the CHART system.
The young start-up entrepreneur faces many
difficult situations along the way to starting
a new business. For example – what is
the potential size of the market for the product
or service? How is the product or service priced?
Has a cash flow analysis been done so that the
break-even point is determined? What is the
break-even point? Will there be sufficient funds
flowing into the business to reach the break-even
point (otherwise referred to as the “ramp-up”
period) and expand from there?
To answer these critical questions, the CHART
system will guide you and present a financial
picture of where you are headed and whether
your projections will result in a profit-making
scenario or – you know what! This analysis
is the focal point of your Business Plan.
FOLLOW THE CHART SYSTEM, AS LAID OUT IN THE
BOOK, AND YOU WILL BETTER UNDERSTAND THE REAL
IMPORTANCE OF CASH FLOW.
The basic concept of each CHART
is simple:
-
In CHART 1 we start the
process by forecasting sales of products
or services and the sources of other cash
income.
-
In CHART 2 we list the
actual costs of the product or service,
based on the sales volume forecasted in
CHART 1.
-
In CHART 3 all costs associated
with sales or distribution will be itemized
and projected.
-
In CHART 4 all administrative
(fixed) costs will be entered.
-
The final
step is to transfer the monthly bottom line
subtotals from these four CHARTs to CHART
5, where a little simple addition and subtraction
will reveal the cash flow outlook for you
proposed or existing business.

What people are saying
about THE CASH FLOW PLANNING GUIDE ...
"Too many businesses overlook the importance of cash flow planning, whether they be small or large enterprises; I've experienced first-hand both suffering as a result. Mr. Lawrence's book provides something few business books too - a concrete set of tools for those without the expertise or experience, or those looking for a more structured approach to many aspects of cash flow planning critical to business success. It's a book I wish I had read ten years ago, before embarking on my first of many business ventures..."
Scott Roy, Marketing Loft
"Finally! I've gotten a grip on a subject that I couldn't afford to ignore. I don't enjoy examining the cash flow picture of my small retail business, but the CHART System made it totally manageable. I was able to focus on it step-by-step, and I found some areas that really needed my attention. If I hadn't taken a closer look when I did, with 'The Cash Flow Planning Guide', I wouldn't be having the success I'm having now."
C. S. Gebhardt "
This book quickly proved to be a major asset in my business library. I always keep it within easy reach everyday. It is a great tool & recommend it."
Frank Saia "Extremely practical and very timely. In a competitive market you must understand your operating numbers if you are to survive."
Ronald Bergeron, Sr. CEO Bergeron Land Development Corporation
"I received the copies of the book. Thanks. It is a wonderful new book and is well done. Congratulations."
Charles Scott, Chairman, TEC International
